Finally, some GMail improvements!

GMail FlaggingIt’s been four years since Google is beta testing GMail. There were a few annoying small issues with GMail, but I always preferred it Hotmail (or WindowsLIveMail nowadays) or Yahoo!Mail, but I can say I am pretty glad with the new additions. Find out more after the jump.

Most of my friends have GMail now. It took a while for some of them to get on board, but I think the conversation view kept all of us hooked. Actually, I find GMail very useful and we use it for our Linc accounts as well.

What bugged me the most about GMail was the fact that the signature always went under the quoted text in a reply, and also that besides the labels and yellow stars, there wasn’t any way of flagging emails.

My annoyances are solved now. Google launched Labs for GMail, where new features are tested, some of them being fixes to the problems I mentioned earlier. Your signature can be placed above quoted text in replies now and you even get various Superstars (as in the image above). Other features would be saved searches, links, date and time formatting and even old school functions like a snake game and an “addict’s break”. Still, the new features are not available for the - GApps for your domain” services; that is the part that I am looking forward to.

Now please Mr. Google, can we have the Overview main page with our calendar entries, emails, to do tasks and all the jazz on GMail’s main page?
