Continuing the Linc Online’s advance to 2.0, today we present social bookmarking and RSS feed customisation.
Following a few interesting articles from Roger Black and Todd Zeigler’s article (and here) on improving newspaper websites, The Linc Online now ticks most of the applicable boxes of a modern newspaper’s website. So there it is, just a quick recap:
- Tags - check
- Full RSS feeds - check
- Social bookmarking options - NEW: check (including Twitter)
- No registration required - check
- Links to blogs - check
- Mobile version - check (just visit the usual address from your mobile)
- Modern graphic design - check
- Comments for every story - check
- Improved search features - check
Besides the social bookmarking bar plugin by Joost, RSS feed header and footer customisation is on the way, for those who read The Linc via their newsreaders. Now I have to implement these functions for this blog also.
