It’s a bit strange sometimes how some certain stories do not make it into top news. A good example is the story of the elderly Palestinian and his family, whom were attacked by a Jewish settlers group. [video and story here] CNN did not take the story on board, but BBC’s Tim Franks reported on the happenings.
More and more grasroots journalists are showing up on the web every day, many of them being from conflict zones. Haitham Sabbah is a good example, picking up on major breaking news, even though he might seem politically biased and subjective through his comments (”YouTube Zionist censorship“).
Still, he is a good exmaple of citizens using the technology at their hand to break stories from all over the world. Political comments abund in his reports, but I wonder if news outlets have him on their RSS readers…
